Learn Care Together (d/b/a: CNA Simulations), Charlene Brown
Our product line expanded beyond certified nursing assistants (CNAs) to include home health aides (HHAs) and family caregivers. We have now trained more than 20,000 CNAs, HHAs, and family caregivers. We have won grants, and our revenue grew 358% from 2022 to 2023 and continues to grow.
Learn Care Together LLC created CNA Simulations, which provides caregiver training programs with a first-of-its-kind online clinical simulation training platform for direct care workers. These interactive, self-paced clinical simulations for certified nursing assistants (CNAs), home health aides (HHAs), and family caregivers are based on real-world scenarios. Learners decide what to say, what to do, and how to stay safe when caring for older adults in risk-free, virtual, simulated environments. This approach strengthens their knowledge and critical thinking skills while deepening their confidence and compassion. The company offers these best-in-class clinical simulation packages to training programs at community colleges, trade schools, high schools, workforce development programs, employers, and more. It has trained over 20,000 learners, preparing them to deliver the highest quality clinical care when they enter the workforce.
Reflecting on how case-based learning and simulation helped me hone my clinical skills, I started CNA Simulations to reimagine how caregiving professionals could learn their clinical skills.
Early in the pandemic, healthcare facilities closed their doors to student clinical rotations, so CNA students couldn’t complete their clinical rotations. The loss of these rotations was devastating, as students usually translate their learning into competence through real-world practice. Case-based learning and simulation were crucial during my medical training, so I was surprised to learn that, unlike nursing and other advanced healthcare students, there weren’t virtual clinical simulations available for CNAs. This low-wage, largely female, and very important workforce deserves access to the same advanced learning tools as everyone else. As a public health physician and entrepreneur, I felt compelled to do something about it. I wanted to create tech solutions that would provide front-line workers with high-quality clinical training tools, helping to accelerate the pipeline of caregivers to care for older adults and people living with disabilities.
We were first to market with virtual clinical simulations for CNAs, HHAs, and family caregivers.
